The 5 Stellar Crown cards you should add to your collection.

The 5 Stellar Crown cards you should add to your collection.

If done the right way, investing in Pokémon cards can be a lucrative business. On this blog we will help you decide if buying these cards is the right thing for you.

Smart investments require time, patience and having the right information. It is important to keep in mind that rare does not always mean expensive. For cards to increase their value, they have to be desired. Knowing that cards are printed in limited numbers is a good starting point mixed with cards that are highly sought after and you have the perfect formula for future success.

Nobody knows the future for certain, but we can make an informed guess that will help us make the right choice.

That informed guess is based on research. We have done the research, so you don’t have to. We will start with the 5 most desired Stellar Crown cards and look at how they have been doing since its release in 2024.

5 Dachsbun ex 169/142

This little fella is one of the most beautiful Pokémon’s ever, but I have to admit that I’m partial due to being the owner of a wonderful miniature dachshund dog.

Duchsbun is a Generation IX Pokémon and evolves from Fidough at level 26. This delicious mix of strudel and dachshund is the perfect combination.  Now we will have a look at some data to analyse the current value of this card.

As we can see in the graphic, this   card has surged from 25 dollars to around 33 dollars and it seems the longer we wait the more it will go up in value. The unique design is done by You Iribi, who has also designed the Pikachu(secret) card from Crown Zenith that currently sells for about 18 dollars as well as many other cards.

We believe that this Secret Illustration rare (SIR) has a high potential to increase its value in  the next few years.  If you are a patient collector, getting this cute card will not harm your wallet at the current price.

4 Lacey 172/142

The value of this card has been dropping since its release going from $120 to $31 at the time of writing. This card could potentially be a long-term opportunity, but we do not think it will happen anytime soon. If you love the artwork and are patient, our recommendation would be to go for it but always remember that prices can go down before they increase.

This card is illustrated by Souichirou Gunjima who has done multiple artwork for Pokémon including Pikachu Vmax (Market price $59.08) which is another beautiful masterpiece that we would definitely add to our collection.

3 Bulbasaur143/142

Bulbasaur Pokémon card #143/142

This Special Illustration Rare (SIR) shows Bulbasaur resting in a serene domestic setting. This card is illustrated by Orca, who excels in creating warm and inviting scenes where the Pokémon are involved in everyday scenes. Orca has illustrated 8 cards with Bulbasaur 143/142 and Lickitung 180/162 being the most significant with a market price of $16.09.

Looking at some data on Bulbasaur, we can see an increase in value since its release with a correction at the end of 2024 but going straight up in price since the beginning of 2025. The value of this card is likely to further increase in the future and it would be a card to have in mind if you are planning for the long term. At a price of $64.19 we will definitely continue to buy as many as we can afford.

2 Squirtle 148/142

Stellar Crown Squirtle #148/142

Squirtle is one of the most popular Pokémon from Generation I, inspired by  real life turtles his name combines squirt with turtle, due to his ability to squirt out water with vigorous force. On this Illustration we can see Squirtle in action, shooting a string of water to one Pidgey that is resting at the balcony. It is beautiful to see this kind of Illustrations where the fans can appreciate the day-to-day Pokémon life and what it would be to have a real Pokémon.  And I have to admit, that would be the dream of many fans like me.

Sabotari, the Illustrator of this card that has been working as an illustrator for Pokémon since Temporal Forces set and has Illustrated 17 card to date. If you are a big fan of this Squirtle you will definitely like Sinistcha ex- 210/167 another card that we will be adding to our collection for future returns.

Market price: $21.99

Coming back to the graphic we can see a raise in its price since its release, we expect this card to keep rising due to the rarity and demand of almost any Squirtle art card, at the moment of writing this card stands at $70.83 dollar market price, which is a good price having into consideration that it has already been a market correction from $80.

1 Terapagos ex 170/142

This special Illustration rare presents Terapagos on its Stellar form, this Pokémon was introduced during Generation IX and has three different forms, normal form, Terastal and Stellar. The Illustrator of this card is Saboteri, the same artist that has done our number two card Squirtle. I am not yet a huge fan of this prismatic art, but I can value the intricate details and  effort that has been put on the design.

If we have a look at the chart, this card is valued half of what it was at the time of the release, if you love the art you should definitely buy but we believe that on the long term the Squirtle card will take the lead on price due to the importance of Squirtle and the bigger fan base and desirability.

In our opinion buying this card at $76.46 is a good price but it will not be our priority due to its moderate fan base and our doubt about the rising of demand of this particular card.

In conclusion, we believe that purchasing any of these five highly sought-after Pokémon cards will be a wise choice if you are looking for long term investment

Specially Squirtle and Bulbasaur cards, those two will be our main priority, as we said before, the fan base of these two Pokémon is too big to ignore.

And remember if you are patient and take card rarity into consideration, you will be in a good position to make a profit.
